Kaylee Graduates 6th Grade

This year Kaylee was in the 6th grade.  She's been in a reading group for most of her time in elementary.  On May 19th she graduated from this reading group.  She worked really hard and did a great job!

Then on the 30th of May, the last day of school, she did it...she graduated from the 6th grade.

Not only did she do a great job this year on her grades and never had a missing assignment the whole year but she had PERFECT ATTENDANCE!!!  That is an accomplishment that is very hard to earn and she did it!  Great job Kaylee.  We're so proud of you!

This is her teacher, Mrs. Hill.  Kaylee absolutely loved her teacher and doesn't want to leave to go to junior high.  But as always, time marches on and she has to go.

Carson's County Report

Carson this year (in 5th grade) had to do a report on a county in Utah.  His county was Uintah.  He had to study about it, write a report and then decorate a box with things pertaining to that county.  So we decided to make a map of the county putting things like the Dinosaur National Monument and the oil fields as well as the forests and ranches (there's not much in Uintah County).  He learned a lot about it and it is still his favorite county.  Good job buddy!

Austin's a graduate!

He did it.  He's a graduate from preschool!  He has loved preschool and he has loved his teacher, Mrs. Pett!  It's been a great year!  Love this kid!  Congratulations Austin!!!

Shelby's First REAL Job!

Well she's done it.  Today is her very first day as a working girl.  Shelby got a job working at the snow cone shack in Syracuse.  She loves it!  Plus she gets to eat as many snow cones as she wants!  Could there be a better first job in the world?  I think not!!!

Fun at the Dinosaur Park

Today we got to go to the Dinosaur Park for Austin's field trip.  He got to make and color a dinosaur then we got to go outside and look around.  They had more fun playing on the toys than looking at the dinosaurs so we didn't stay very long.  I thought all boys liked to look at dinosaurs...but not these ones.  They'd rather play and run around which is boyish, too.

Kaylee's Reptilian Friend

So lately Kaylee's been going to the pond by our house.  They've been catching frogs and she found this little friend (ew!).  I honestly can't believe she caught it and then brought it home to show us.  Snakes really don't bother me if I know they are there but I would NEVER, EVER pick one up.  I really don't like the thought of them biting me!  But she did it and now we will forever have the proof of it...ew!

Pinewood Derby 2014

May 10th was the long-awaited Cub Scout Pinewood Derby.  This is Carson's second derby.  Last time he took 2nd place but a fraction of a second.  This year he and Curt were determined to do better.  So they worked really hard on Carson's car.  His is the first car, the one on the left upper corner that's red.

They raced and raced and in the end...

They did it.  Carson's car took 1st place.  He was so happy!!!  He's so competitive that this just made his day!
