Carson's Kindergarten Graduation

He did it!!! We all knew he was smart enough but now the world knows it too!!
He's ready for 1st grade!

On Tuesday, June 1st, 2010 Carson graduated from Mrs. Hatch's kindergarten class. Before this his teacher sent home a paper asking for each student to perform a talent at the graduation. It could be anything like drawing a picture and showing it, singing a song, telling a joke, anything. I thought he would be great at telling a joke because he's our little joke-ster. He loves to make up his own jokes and while they're usually not funny to us they are hilarious to him. But that didn't go over too well with him. He wanted to do tricks on his scooter. Now I'm just the mom but I didn't know he could do tricks on his scooter. So after trying and trying to get him to agree to something I finally gave in since this was HIS graduation and he could do whatever talent he wanted to do...but needless to say I was a little nervous about what these tricks were going to be.
So the day arrives. They walk in and sing my favorite song, which turned out to be the song that he wanted to sing to me the whole week before his graduation but I made him wait so that it would be a surprise for me. It was called "Tony Chestnut". It was so cute. They had actions for all the names in the song. I loved it. Here's the link to it if you want to see it.

After each song a group of them would do their talents. Carson's scooter tricks were hilarious. Curt and I tried our hardest to keep a straight face but it didn't happen. This isn't the best video but we didn't have the best seats in the house. So this is what we got. You get the gist of it though. He was great!!! Look out Shawn White and Tony Hawk!!!

Scooter Tricks

After all the talents and song their teacher presented them with their certificates and then came the best part...refreshments. I think he had three or four cookies that I saw anyway. Who knows...there could have been more. Anyway, we are so proud of him and had a great time watching all that he has accomplished this year.
Congratulations Carson!!!!
