Black Island Farms

On October 8th we went to Black Island Farms to have a little family fun.  They have slides and corn mazes and rides that everyone in our family had fun with.  They also have a hay ride where you get to pick your own pumpkin.

This is a BIG tube slide that you went down on potato bags.  I really didn't think Austin would do it but as you can see he had NO problem with it.  He kept wanting to go again and again and again!

They had three corn mazes and we did all of them (I think).  It got really cloudy and we thought it was going to storm on us but the weather held out and we made it through our day in the corn!

Here the kids would hide in the corn and try to scare someone else.  I don't think it worked once but it was fun to watch!

Hay ride time!

This is Beetle Juice.  He was great!  Also notice the bag of popcorn?  This was Curt's absolute favorite!!!  He told all of our family that if they went there to let him know and he would give them some money to get him some more popcorn.  It was the best kettle corn we've ever had!!!

Snow Basin 2011

Most years during General Conference Sunday we drive up to Snow Basin to see the changing leaves and take pictures with Curt's parents and whoever wants to go.  This year Brian and his wife Dana and Porter came with Bev and Steve and our family.  Thanks everyone.  It was a lot of fun!!!

Though it doesn't look like it this is a REALLY big rock and it took some work getting up on it.  Kaylee is such a girl...although that's not always bad!

Tae-kwon-do...Hi-ya!

Over the summer Kaylee and Carson decided that they wanted to take tae-kwon-do from the city.  They had a great time and surprisingly did not see how hard they could hit each other.

Kaylee did very well learning how to do headstands.  She could be up there like that for a LONG time!

This is their certificates of completion!  Way to go kids!!!

4-Wheeling 2011

So here are just a few of our 4-wheeling trips that we've taken this summer.

These two pictures are from Willard Point on July 9, 2011.  Curt and Shelby went with Grandpa Nye and some others.  Can you believe there is still snow up there?  They couldn't even get up to Inspiration Point because the snow was too deep.
This picture is from Ant Flats, July 29, 2011.  We went as a family on this ride and it was very fun to see the kids have a great time!

These are from Mantua on July 15, 2011.  We went as a family with Grandpa Nye and Brian and Dana.  What pretty flowers!!!

Austin Lightyear...To Inifinity and Beyond

Just a funny picture of Austin.  He had on Tre's Buzz Lightyear wings at Grandma Nye's house.  Notice the chocolate popsicle all over his mouth?  What a cutie!!!

Kaylee's 10th Birthday Party

Though we were in St. George for Kaylee's actual birthday this was a birthday party year for her.  So we decided to have a party the Saturday after her birthday.  Since she got a "little girl" for her birthday we decided to give her a tea party birthday party where the girls get to bring their "little girls" for the party as well.  So when they first arrived they went to the "salon" to do their "little girls'" hair.  They had so much fun doing this that I had to pull them away for their next activity.
The Salon
Then the girls got to make purses for their dolls.  Some of them really had a good time with the fabric paint!
Then we played a few games; a sugar cube relay race, musical tea pots (chairs) and then a race to see who could undress and then dress their dolls the fastest.
Then it was time for "tea".
We had little sandwiches, cookies and wafer cookies and of course lemonade "tea" and Raspberry "tea".  We also used some real china that we had downstairs and the girls loved it.
We went over proper etiquette on how to ask politely for things and to please pass whatever it is you wanted.  They even lifted their pinkies when they were drinking their "tea".  It was so fun to see.
Here is Kaylee with her cake before the party.
If you can't tell...it's a tea pot.
She blew them all out!
Here is Kaylee's friend Hannah eating a HUGE bite of cake.  She is so quiet but at times she makes me laugh...moments like these!
Then it was time for presents.  Here is Reagan...
...and Callie...

...and Corrine (and Callie)...

...and Hannah (and Callie).
Here is another one of those moments that made me laugh!
...and our neighbor Mikayla...
...and Elisa.
After presents they got to make a bracelet for their dolls to keep.
Here are the thank you gifts from the party.  I found porcelain tea sets for all the girls.  It was so much fun and probably the easiest party I've ever thrown.  They basically were entertained with their dolls and I didn't have to do too much!
Happy Birthday Kaylee!!
