Catch Up

Well it's been awhile and there really hasn't been TOO much that's been happening for us. First of all, Shelby was in her school Science Fair in January. She and Curt worked on her project that was on Earthquakes and Soil Liquefaction. For those of you who are like me and need an explanation it's about when there's an earthquake and if there's lots of water in the soil then it makes the water come to the surface compacting the soil underneath and causing buildings on top of that soil to sink. Anyway, they had a really cool demonstration for it and she won 1st place in her grade level at her school which meant that she got to go to District. She was so excited. When they went to district she ended up getting Superior and one of the top ten. She didn't take the overall award so she didn't get to go to state but we were VERY proud of her and the best was that she was proud of herself. She did an AWESOME job.

Then after 7 years of waiting Kaylee FINALLY lost some more of her teeth. She lost her two bottom teeth late last year when she was in kindergarten and then she finally lost her top two teeth and another one of her bottom teeth. I really thought that we were going to have to have them pulled out because they were just not loose at all for the longest time. Her teacher tricked her and pulled her first top tooth out. She was so excited that she lost it at school. Then the other fell out while she was sleeping. We told her that she was lucky she didn't swallow it. The other one I think just fell out on its own after we begged and begged to pull it but she was going to have none of that! So now she has a goofy smile but she thinks her teeth are coming in BEAUTIFULLY!

Carson has started soccer for the spring. We haven't taken any pictures yet but they will be coming soon. This is his last week of practice and then the games start. He is very excited to be playing and we are sure that there will be some meltdowns when he gets passed up on the field and isn't always the first one. Should be interesting!

Austin is now 5 months old and rolling over from his back to his tummy but has yet to master from his tummy to his back, which they say is the easiest one. We like to do things the hard way in our family! He is getting so big. When we took him in for his 4 month check up he was 87% on his height and 23% for his weight. He really wasn't the easiest baby to feed. He would really fight it even when you knew he was hungry. But then we started him on solids and he LOVES it. He has gotten a little chubby since then. He really likes to eat now. He is also our smiliest baby. Really if he has a full tummy and has a good nap all you have to do is look at him and he will grin so big. He is just the cutest thing ever and we all just adore him.

That is SO cool about Shelby's science fair project! I knew I had smart nieces . . . but I had no idea! Tell her congratulations from me. So many cute pictures! I love the big toothless grin. Oh, and you'll have to let us know if Carson has any soccer games in the near future. I would love to see one of those!
