This is one of my favorite pictures of Austin. Grandma Nye took it when she was watching him while I was at my girls' weekend and Curt had the other kids four-wheeling. He had a great time with Grandma and now we all have a little momento of that night. Thanks Grandma!!!

Austin's Farm Field Trip
So in October Austin's pre-school went to Black Island Farms for a field trip. We love this field trip because they take the kids on a tractor ride and the kids get to pick a pumpkin and they teach them about the produce that they grow. Then we get to play on all the fun slides and things that they have there. Here is Austin and his two buddies Will and Colton. It was so much fun and we had a blast.

Austin and the Giant Peach!
So due to a late frost in the spring we lost a lot of our peach blossoms on our peach trees. So because of this the peaches that did make it were HUGE. Here is an example of what kind of peaches we had this year. I didn't want to can ANY of them since we had a TON last year so we just cut them up and froze them for smoothies and peach crisp, etc. I was just amazed at how big they were.

First Day of School
September 4th was the first day of school for all of the our kids. Shelby left too early for me to get a picture of her so you'll just have to go from previous posts. She starts the 9th grade and her final year before entering high school. I can't believe that she is this big. What happened to my baby girl?!!
Kaylee was kind of upset because not only is this the first day of school but also her birthday. She thought that was a real bummer that she had to go to school on her birthday but she ended up okay with it since we took donuts for her class. She is starting the 5th grade and just turned 11. She is getting too big as well.
Carson is 8 and starting the 3rd grade but he is starting at Lakeside Elementary since he made it into the Spectrum program which is like the gifted program. He is so smart...sometimes a little too smart for his own good. So that was a little tricky for us to figure out how to get both kids to two different schools that started at the same time but we've got it all worked out now.
Then there's our baby, Austin. He hates it when I call him our "baby". He informs us that he's a big boy now and not a baby. He started pre-school. He is 3 and usually we don't start our kids in pre-school until the year before they go to kindergarten but he had been begging to go to school all last year and we knew that this year would be rough if he didn't have something like school, too. So he is going to Mrs. Pett's pre-school, Discovery Pre-School and loves it. He really is a big boy!
Kaylee's 11th Birthday
September 4th is Kaylee's birthday and this year she turned 11. She really only wanted one thing, an American Girl doll with red hair, freckles and blue eyes. We told her that since they cost so much that would be ALL she got from us. She was okay with that. So that's what she got. Do you think she was excited at all?
She also got a school kit for her American Girl doll from Grandma Nye. She was happy about that, too. She is such a girly-girl! We love you Kaylee!!!
Labor Day 2012
On Labor Day, September 3rd, 2012 we went up to Grandpa Great's lot up in South Fork. We always love going up there and playing in the river and having a picnic. The kids had so much fun. Big Carter even caught a small fish. What a great end to the summer vacation!

Brigham Temple Open House
On August 30th, 2012 we went to the Brigham City Temple Open House. It was a beautiful temple as they all are. I was so excited to teach my kids about the temple and about how inside the temple only the best is used and that's how we should strive to live our lives, to be the best we can be. Of course we won't always be the best because we will ALL make mistakes but because of our Savior Jesus Christ and his atonement we can repent and still be the best.
We also went and saw the tabernacle. Curt loves to see the architecture of old buildings so this was a must-see.
