Carson's First Pinewood Derby

On October 20th was Carson's first-ever Pinewood Derby.  He was so excited.  So was Curt.  They worked on the car for a couple of weeks and Curt even took Carson to his work to help sand it and paint it.  Carson had a great time there seeing where his dad worked.

The big day came and this was the track they were racing on.

Carson's car is in the number 4 slot.  It has a dragon head on it.

Here he is waiting at the end to see how his car does.

Curt and I volunteered to help with the awards.  Curt made the trophies and I made the treat cars that everybody got who participated.  It was fun to help.

Carson's car did very well.  In the finals he won most of the races and came in second place.  He was so excited.  Here he is holding his certificate, trophy and car with a BIG smile on his face.

The guy who had the track loves Pinewood Derby and had made a LOT of cars.  This was one of Curt's favorite's.  It's very aerodynamic and the wheels are very skinny to help against friction to make it go faster.
