First Day of School!

On Monday July 21st Shelby and Kaylee got to go back to school. Shelby started the 5th grade and Kaylee started 1st grade. As you can see it was a rainy day and the girls were upset because we put their hair up in curlers and they didn't want the rain to ruin their curls but they got through it since it didn't rain for very long.

Shelby was a little nervous because she heard that her teacher was a little strict and she is coming from probably the best 4th grade teacher on the planet, Mr. Martinez. We had to have a little talk with her about not judging people by what other people say about them and to wait and see what she thinks of her. I told her about my 1st grade teacher who everybody told me was the meanest in the WHOLE WORLD and she ended up being one of my favorite teachers in all grade school! So now that it's been a week she likes her teacher and is happy to be back in school.

Kaylee was excited about going to school because she would get to stay all day just like Shelby. She was nervous though because she didn't know how to do lunch in the lunchroom. We told her not to worry about it and that there would be people there to help her and all those in 1st grade because nobody would know what to do. Shelby also talked to her about and what they had to do. She loves 1st grade and her teacher as well.
