Fishing For Family Night

Well this past Monday Curt called and had the idea to go fishing for Family Night. We all agreed because it sounded like fun. Obviously we had forgotten the last time we went when it took the grand total of maybe five WHOLE minutes before we heard the words, "I'm bored." So we packed some sandwiches and drove up past Morgan to a place called Lost Creek where Curt had gone fishing with some friends from work. They even caught some fish. So we thought it would be quite different this time. Well we got there and fished for a couple of hours without having a single nibble (by a fish that is). Shelby caught a crawdad but it got away but it was neat to see. We also lost about 7 or 8 hooks from snags at the bottom of the reservoir. It was quite an adventure.
During our time there Curt decided to try a slightly different spot and accidentally slipped and his foot went in the mud. It was hard for us not to burst out with laughter until he started joking about it. Then we all thought it was funny! At the end after having no luck we decided that if there were fish around we would scare them away by throwing rocks in the water which is what Carson was dying to do the whole time we were there. So everybody threw rocks in the water and Curt proved he really does have Herculean strength by throwing in the biggest rocks and making the biggest splashes. The kids laughed so hard especially when they were splashed as well.
We left there about 9:30pm and the kids fell asleep on the way home (thank goodness because it was a school night and I was worried about having to get them up in the morning!) It was a lot of fun even though we didn't catch anything and surprising to the two of us Kaylee asked if we could go back the next night and do it all again.

Caleb loves fishing too. There is something relaxing about it even if you don't catch anything. I guess it's the anticipation and hope that keeps them motivated for hours. What a fun night!
