So this week Carson has had quite the adventure. On Tuesday afternoon he came in the house after being outside just sobbing. Kaylee was with him and said that he had just got stung (or bit, whatever the nasty buggers do) by a hornet behind his ear. So we were looking and sure enough there was the little red bite. So we stuck ice on it and cuddled him until it was feeling better. I went out later that day to try to find where the hornet nest was so that we could get rid of them and I could not find a nest by where he got bit. So we sprayed all the nests that we could find that night at 10:30pm and while doing that Curt got bit by one. Now I have always read that they are docile in the early morning and at night but the ones are our house are out to prove everybody wrong on that point. So yesterday the kids were out running in the sprinklers and again the girls bring Carson in just screaming and sobbing again. They said that he had gotten bit on his lip. I was looking at him and couldn't see a bite but went to get ice anyway. On my way back to him I looked at his chest and there was a bite on his chest. I asked him if that's where he got bit and he said, "No, on my lip!" So he had two bites. We got two things of ice for him to put on the bites and waited for him to calm down. I got him a drink of lemonade and when he went to suck it out of the straw I looked at his lip and this is what I saw.
Can you believe it? I immediately called the doctor to see if there was anything I could do even though I pretty well knew that there was nothing but ice and Benadryl and that's exactly what they told me. But they did say to watch him because the more a person gets stung the more they can develop an allergic reaction. I didn't know that. I always thought that the more you are exposed to something the less likely you would be allergic to that but I guess insects are not the same. So that's his little adventure and we still have no idea where the hornets are coming from by where he got stung. It's our little mystery that we hope to solve soon!

I'm so sorry that happened to you Carson! That's no fun. They must love you because you're so sweet! I'm glad you're feeling better. We have a lot of hornets at our house too. No incidents yet this year but I know they're coming. We had a lot of fun with you guys today Kirsten. The water's going down at Pineview a little so there's more beach. We should all get together and go up again. We could hang on the beach with the little ones and let the older kids and the guys go out and attack the water and toys... :)
Love ya,
Brandy
Poor little Carson! I felt so bad when I first saw that! Glad he is back to normal now! We sure had fun with all of you yesterday! Grandpa Moss said it was a great day! The kids and the dogs were all perfect!
Love you
Dad and Mom
Poor Carson I hope he feels better soon! How unfortunate! I didn't know that you were pregnant. Congrats!
